Jeffrey Farkas, M.D., of Interventional Neuro Associates in East Hills and Brooklyn, New York, is one of the most experienced neurointerventional surgeons and interventional neuroradiologists in the Northeast.
Dr. Farkas began his training in neuroradiology and interventional neuroradiology at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is board-certified in radiology and has more than 15 years of dedicated expertise in interventional neuroradiology, which is the minimally invasive treatment of vascular disease of the brain and spine.
In 1999, Dr. Farkas developed New Jersey’s first academic interventional neuroradiology program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. He spearheaded another successful interventional neuroradiology program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he served as the program’s director. Now, he’s the director of interventional neuroradiology at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn.
In addition to providing the most advanced medical care with a patient-centered philosophy, Dr. Farkas contributes to numerous medical publications and is an international lecturer on interventional stroke therapy and interventional neuroradiology techniques. He also works closely with medical industry manufacturers to perfect the latest devices for treating strokes and aneurysms. Recently, Dr. Farkas was among a select group of physicians chosen to treat brain aneurysms with a new tool, the pipeline embolization device. Along with his colleagues at Interventional Neuro Associates, Dr. Farkas cares deeply about providing the most comprehensive, minimally invasive treatment options for patients in a personal and compassionate environment.
